Washington, D.C. – Incoming Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced today that the Caucus has approved all of the Ranking Members of the standing committees for the 118th Congress.

“As we chart our path forward, it is crucial that we have strong, principled leadership at the helm of each of our committees. House Democrats have organized swiftly and I am proud to announce that we have approved all of our Ranking Members for the 118th Congress. 

“The Members of the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol have done tremendous work to uncover what happened on that deadly day and to preserve our democracy. I am grateful to Chairman Bennie Thompson for his steadfast, solemn leadership of this bipartisan effort. The Caucus, the Congress and the country owe Chairman Thompson, Vice Chair Liz Cheney and all of the committee Members a debt of gratitude for their service.

Washington, D.C. – Incoming Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced today that he is nominating Congressman Joe Morelle of New York to serve as Ranking Member of the Committee on House Administration for the 118th Congress.

“Congressman Joe Morelle is a leader in our Caucus who is deeply respected by Members on both sides of the aisle for his ability to bring people together to get things done. His reputation as a problem solver and fighter for our Democratic values dates back to his service as Majority Leader in the New York State Assembly.

Washington, D.C. – Incoming Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced today that he is nominating Congressman David Cicilline of Rhode Island to serve as the Parliamentarian of the Steering and Policy Committee.

Washington, D.C. – Incoming Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced today that he will accept the recommendation put forward by the class of incoming new Members to nominate Rob Menendez of New Jersey and Hillary Scholten of Michigan to serve as freshman representatives to the Steering and Policy Committee.
