This outrageous ban includes works about Slavery and the Holocaust, but not a book written by Adolf Hitler.

Washington, D.C. — Today, House Democrats continued their efforts to push back against President Donald Trump’s unlawful executive directives by filing an amicus brief in defense of the essential constitutional principle of birthright citizenship in the matter of State of Washington, et al. v. Trump, et al.

Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement:

I am deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life at the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. My prayers are with all those who have lost a loved one in the disaster and with the NYPD for the loss of one of their own. New York City is home to the highest population of Dominicans outside of the Dominican Republic. So, when Quisqueya mourns, New York City mourns.

The individuals cited in this matter were duly appointed, congressionally confirmed board members at independent federal agencies. Illegal attempts to terminate them threaten the integrity of these institutions and their ability to protect American workers and uphold workplace democracy.
