LEADER JEFFRIES: "WE WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE AMERICA FORWARD FROM THE MIDDLE OUT AND THE BOTTOM UP"
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries held his weekly press conference where he highlighted how House Democrats and President Biden are putting People Over Politics and delivering for everyday Americans while House Republicans prioritize their own power.

JEFFRIES: Later on today, I will be traveling to Baltimore for the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference, we're excited, we're looking forward to it. It's a very robust agenda that has been put together, quite ably, by Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar and Caucus Vice Chair Ted Lieu. The Members are excited. We're excited for the opportunity to spend some time together talking about the future that we want to create for everyday Americans with the leadership of President Joe Biden, of course, who we will hear from later on this evening.
The Biden record on the economy has been incredibly strong. 12 million jobs created over the last two years, a record in American history. We've invested in bringing domestic manufacturing jobs back home to the United States of America, invested in strengthening the health, the safety, the economic well-being of the American people, through the Inflation Reduction Act, as well as through gun safety legislation for the first time in 30 years. We've invested in the infrastructure in this country to create millions of good-paying jobs as we fix our crumbling bridges, roads, tunnels, our airports, our sewer and water systems, our mass transportation systems, and also in trying to bring about high-speed Internet access in every single community throughout the nation.
It's an incredibly strong track record. But President Biden has indicated we have to finish the job, build upon the work that has been done to continue to move America forward, not from the top down, which is the extreme MAGA Republican plan, but from the middle out and from the bottom up. And that's what we as House Democrats intend to continue to do For The People.

JEFFRIES: I'm not going to get out ahead of the President's budget, but I do look forward to President Biden presenting his budget to the American people. Here's the thing. Where is the Republican plan? Where is it? All this talk about trying to address the fiscal concerns that many of them have articulated is growing old in the absence of presenting an actual plan. President Biden is presenting his plan on Thursday, March 9th. House Republicans have had years to produce a plan. They were measuring the drapes. There was an expectation that they were going to win 40, 50, 60 seats. They've been talking about these issues for years. Where is the House Republican budget plan? Produce it and then we can have a dialogue about where we should be going in terms of the economic well-being of the American people.
