LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF GLORIA STEINEM

Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued the following statement upon the death of Gloria Steinem:

Gloria Steinem was a trailblazing journalist, organizer and champion for equality whose far-reaching impact has forever changed America. Our nation is a better place today because of Gloria’s groundbreaking and unwavering efforts to increase the visibility of women in elected office, the media and the workforce. Through her advocacy, she opened doors for generations of women and made significant progress in our ongoing struggle for liberty and justice for all.

My condolences are with Gloria’s family and all who knew and loved her. May she forever rest in peace.
