LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON THE ILLEGAL FIRING OF FEDERAL WORKERS

Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement:

Donald Trump and his out-of-control administration have been illegally firing hardworking federal employees since the beginning of the year. For political hacks like Russell Vought, cruelty is the point. 

Instead of making life better for everyday Americans, the Trump administration continues to viciously target federal civil servants, many of whom are veterans. The mass firings announced today are just as unlawful as the mass firings that have occurred throughout the year. The unlawful actions taken by the Trump administration undermine our national security, public health and the financial well-being of the American people.

House Democrats want to reopen the government, protect workers and address the Republican healthcare crisis. Donald Trump and his corrupt minions continue to visit chaos, cruelty and confusion on the country. These firings will not stand.
