LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

Washington, DC – Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries issued the following statement in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month:

During this month, we honor and celebrate the expansive history, unique diversity and countless contributions of Hispanic Americans. We also reflect on and acknowledge the necessary work ahead to ensure our nation lives up to her founding promise of liberty and justice for all, including for the more than 63 million Hispanics in the United States. 

We are inspired by the resilience, vibrancy and advocacy of Hispanic communities in our country, throughout Latin America and around the world. America’s diversity is our strength. We are a gorgeous mosaic made better by all who call this land home.

House Democrats remain dedicated to centering the health, safety and well-being of the Hispanic and Latino communities that are so critical to the success of our nation. Today and every day, we renew our march towards a more perfect union and our commitment to ensuring opportunity and freedom for every single person.
