LEADER JEFFRIES STATEMENT ON DONALD TRUMP’S DANGEROUS ONE-MAN COMMAND ECONOMY

Today, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement:

The August jobs report is the latest indication that Donald Trump is crashing our economy in real time and driving us toward a recession. Donald Trump and House Republicans promised to lower the high cost of living in the United States on day one. But under their control of government, life is becoming increasingly more expensive while unemployment is the highest in years and job creation is at historic lows. The American people are feeling the impact of the Trump administration’s dangerous one-man command policies in community after community. 

Donald Trump’s solution is to rename the One Big Ugly Law, which is saddling the economy with trillions of dollars in debt and strips healthcare and nutritional assistance from the American people in order to enact massive tax breaks for their billionaire donors. Enough is enough. House Democrats will never rubber stamp this unprecedented assault on working families and our economy.
