LEADER JEFFRIES: "HOUSE REPUBLICANS ARE THE PARTY OF INSURRECTION, IMPEACHMENT AND ILLEGITIMATE INVESTIGATIONS"
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries held a press conference where he emphasized that while House Democrats work to deliver for everyday Americans, extreme MAGA Republicans continue to double down on their partisan stunts.
JEFFRIES: Good morning, everybody. Welcome back, Happy New Year. From the very beginning of this Congress, House Democrats have made clear repeatedly that we are ready, willing and able to find bipartisan common ground with our Republican colleagues on any issue in order to solve problems for hardworking American taxpayers. We have repeatedly made clear that we want to find a bipartisan solution to making life better for everyday Americans. That is why we were sent to Congress – to serve the people.
This week has once again revealed that extreme MAGA Republicans have zero interest in doing anything productive that is designed to benefit the American people. House Republicans are the party of insurrection, impeachment and illegitimate investigations. Nothing more, nothing less. Insurrection, impeachment and illegitimate investigation. These extremists have made clear once again this week that they have no ideas, no agenda, no vision, and have made no progress on solving problems for everyday Americans.
It's sad and it's shameful that extreme MAGA Republicans have turned the House of Representatives into a spectacle and a national embarrassment. The most unproductive Congress in modern American history being presided over by these MAGA Republicans whose agenda, let me correct myself, is chaos, dysfunction and extremism. That's their agenda. That's their substantive agenda anchored around insurrection, impeachment and illegitimate investigations.
