LEADER JEFFRIES: "THE EXTREME MAGA REPUBLICANS HAVE A RADICAL, RECKLESS RIGHT-WING AGENDA"
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries held his weekly press conference where he highlighted that House Democrats are continuing to fight for working families while extreme MAGA Republicans are focused on giving tax breaks to billionaires and wealthy corporations.
JEFFRIES: Good morning. House Democrats will continue to grow the middle class, invest in everyday Americans and strengthen the economy. That's an agenda that will continue to put People Over Politics, focus on lower costs, better-paying jobs, safer communities, fighting for reproductive freedom, defending democracy, building an economy that works for the middle class, for everyday Americans and that is built from the middle out and the ground up. That's our vision for America. That's the work that we have been doing and will continue to do.
On the other hand, extreme MAGA Republicans have shown us who they are this week. Their economic agenda has nothing to do with the health, the safety and the economic well-being of everyday Americans. It has everything to do with the wealthy, the well off, the well-connected, and their right-wing extreme ideology. Extreme MAGA Republicans have a three-part economic agenda that they have made clear to the American people this week. One, they want to end Social Security as we know it. Two, massive tax cuts for billionaires and wealthy corporations. Three, dramatic spending cuts that will hurt the health, the safety and the economic well-being of the American people. It's a radical, reckless, extreme right-wing agenda that has nothing to do with looking out for the middle class. And that's what Republicans have shown us this week.
