LEADER JEFFRIES ANNOUNCES COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENT FOR CONGRESSMAN TOM SUOZZI

February 29, 2024

WASHINGTON, DC – Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries announced today that the House Democratic Caucus has approved Congressman Tom Suozzi’s appointment to the House Committee on Homeland Security.

“Today, I am honored to announce that Rep. Tom Suozzi will be appointed to the House Committee on Homeland Security. Throughout his decades-long public service career, Tom has been a common-sense legislator, a bipartisan leader and a champion for the hardworking people of Long Island and Queens. I am confident that Tom’s pragmatic and principled voice will be a tremendous asset to this important committee as we continue to address the challenges at the border and fix our broken immigration system.

As we continue to confront MAGA Republican extremism and obstruction, we need common-sense voices like Tom Suozzi more than ever. I am thrilled to welcome Tom back into the House Democratic Caucus family and look forward to working with him as we tackle the critical work ahead.”
